Holiday Cookies – Seven Layers!
This batch of cookies is so easy to make, even I can’t screw it up. I mean, I try, don’t get me wrong. But it’s nearly impossible. So. Here you go!
The layers are: Butter, graham crackers, 1 small can of condensed milk (Eagle Brand is what I use), chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, cocoanut, and nuts of your choice. (Yes. Butter is a layer. These cookies are not for the dieting type.)
Put 1 stick of butter in the pan (9×13, or 9×9 if you want them thicker) and toss it in the oven while it heats up to 350 degrees. Let the stick of butter melt completely. Then crush graham crackers up finely and sprinkle over top of the butter until it’s nice and packed in there. Pour the condensed milk over top of that, then layer on the chocolate and butterscotch. After that’s done, then add the cocoanut and nuts. (I never do nuts, not a fan. But they’re fine with or without!)
Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes and take out. Let them cool for about five minutes, then cut into squares while it’s still warm. (Easier to cut through the melted chocolate that way. Once they’ve cooled, it’s harder.) Let them cool completely, then pop out of the pan and eat! YUM!
Sound good to you? I thought so. I know it looks weird, but they’re SO GOOD! Want more ideas for holiday cookies? Here are a few of my friends and their suggestions! Do you have a favorite cookie recipe for the holidays?
